STORY:'APC planned to hack into INEC database'- DSS claims

Today The Department of State Services, DSS, said that its investigations indicates that the
APC had plans to hack into the database of the
Independent National Electoral Commission,
INEC.

Part of the tail of crashed AirAsia flight QZ8501

RIP:Jonathan’s sister dies in Yenagoa hospital

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has announced the passing away of his beloved younger sister, Mrs. Nancy Jonathan-Olei.

The militant group Boko Haram has seized a town and key multinational military base in north-eastern Nigeria, officials and eyewitnesses say.

A senator in Borno state said troops had abandoned the base in the town of Baga after it was attacked on Saturday.
Residents of Baga, who fled by boat to neighbouring Chad, said many people had been killed and the town set ablaze.
Baga, scene of a Nigerian army massacre in 2013, was the last town in the Borno North area under government control.
It hosted the base of the Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF), made up of troops from Nigeria, Chad and Niger.

Six Somali soldiers and one civilian were killed on Friday in an attack by Shebab militants on a military checkpoint in Baidoa and in a car bombing in the capital Mogadishu, officials said.
A Somali military official, Colonel Mohamed Hassan, said six soldiers died when the Shebab, Al-Qaeda’s main African affiliate, carried out a pre-dawn raid against their post near Baidoa, some 250 kilometres (155 miles) northwest of Mogadishu.
“The Shebab fighters attacked three locations including the checkpoint outside Baidoa. Three of their fighters were killed,” said Suleyman Abdulahi, another local official.

More bodies have been recovered from the Java Sea, five days after AirAsia flight QZ8501 crashed, bringing the total found so far to 30, Indonesian rescue officials say.
The Airbus A320 disappeared with 162 people on board while flying from Surabaya in Indonesia to Singapore.
Operations to recover victims continue but no survivors have been found.
Specialist equipment has arrived to aid the search for the plane itself and its "black box" flight recorders.
However officials said it could not be used on Friday because of high waves, Reuters reported.
