US football coach suspended after twerking on players

A Florida middle school football coach has been
suspended after being accused of ‘twerking on
players’.
Courtney Spruill, an assistant football coach at
Kernan Middle School – where students are aged
between 11 and 14 – reportedly turned up to an
end-of-season party hosted by one of her players
with a bottle of vodka, where she showed
students how to twerk and also received a lap
dance.
One student told investigators the team was
dancing before Spruill told them to put away their
phones and ‘showed them a few moves.’

Spruill, who also teaches health and physical
education at the school, was suspended without
pay for 15 days, with an investigation concluding
there was enough evidence to sustain ‘the gross
exercise of poor judgement’.
Evidence included a video of the lap dance, which
was ‘approximately 3-4 minutes long’.
One mother told CBS she hoped Ms Spruill would
not be teaching her daughter.
‘You wonder why kids act they way they do these
days,’ she said.
‘The focus should be on education, not twerking.’
